Today, our Hak'13 team touched down Laos airport. Whoa, this place feels so much like my hometown, Tebing Tinggi. This unurbanised town really feels really similar to Tebing :) But I've long forgotten the feeling of living in a non city since I started living in Singapore since I was really young. Hmm.

We met the Singapore ambassador to Lao at the Singapore Embassy in Vientiane. And wow, she's knowledgeable, always curious about things that are going in in the world and she really knows what she wants in life. Haha really a nuu qiang ren!! *admires*

Then while going for dinner/night market, we made a new friend! Chai/Jai. He's a Laotian and he doesn't speak English at all. But it was really challenging when we tried to ask him questions in Lao and we'd have to try to understand the answer he gave us. It was difficult but fun! Hahahaha. Looks like the Lao lesson we had didn't all go to waste :D *proud of Lao team*

What was really nice was his patience. There were occasions where we couldn't understand and we had to ask him to repeat and say it slower. Although in the end we still couldn't understand, he was still patient with us. I feel so heartwarmed by his patience..!

Anyway, we did some window shopping at the night market. And whoa...... Things are so much cheaper here! Argh, I confirm spend like crazy here. Oh no..!! I already thought of what to buy already :p

Hello everyone (whoever is actually here..)

Haven't blogged in a really long while. Many things happening but I was kinda lazy to blog. So yea :/ Sorry for the lack of updates (Sorry to myself perhaps, since there's so few readers anyway)

I'm leaving for Laos in about 13 hours time! It's my first time volunteering overseas and I'm somewhat excited and somewhat scared/unenthusiastic.

I'm kinda afraid of the language barrier there. And I think I'll miss my friends and home.
But I'm excited cuz it's gonna be a whole new experience there!

I'm kinda a bimbz. I'm scared of dirty toilets :/ Arghh. But I know I'll survive somehow. I've been staying in Singapore for too long a period and I have forgotten my hometown, I have forgotten how rural living is like. My hometown is quite similar to to province that we're going. But I guess I'm too used to the clean environment in Singapore..

Gonna turn in soon and will see you guys back in the new year :)
